Who Murdered David Messerschmitt? Gladiators Unite.

Call of Action
The murder of DLA Piper associate David Messerschmitt remains unsolved.  We cannot allow this mystery to go unresolved.  Law Professor Dan Markel was gunned down in Tallahassee, FL seven months ago.  He left behind two children.  The police have not named a suspect nor said why he would have been targeted for murder.  Over the last century, 14 prosecutors have been murdered.  Despite the fact Messerschmitt was not a prosecutor, he was a Suited Gladiator.  Other lawyers have been the target of violence in the past.

Jonathan Luna
Jonathan Luna, a federal prosecutor, died on December 4, 2003.  In Baltimore, MD, Luna was working late on plea deals for two suspected heroine dealers.  He then left the courthouse, and travelled through four states.  He left behind his cell phone and glasses.  His body was found in a creek in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania stabbed 36 times.  Luna was under investigation for the disappearance of $36,000 and he was stabbed 36 times.  Some believe that Luna could have committed suicide while others believe that one of the drug dealers that Luna once prosecuted, had him murdered as pay-back.  Luna would have used a weapon that would have taken care of business quickly, not the Swiss Army-style knife found at the scene.  Luna had recently prosecuted a number of other suspected drug gangs. He had also prosecuted cases against a Maryland man who videotaped a child as she slept in her home and a man who plotted to burn down a home to force six Mexican men out of a neighborhood. Both cases ended in guilty pleas.

Thomas Wales
Thomas Wales was an American federal prosecutor from Seattle, Washington and graduated from Harvard University.  In October, 2001, a gunman killed Thomas Wales.  Wales was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Wales was a graduate of Milton Academy, where he roomed with Joseph Patrick Kennedy II, whose father Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.  On the evening of October 11, 2001, Wales was sitting at his computer in his home office in his basement. A gunman avoided the security lights in Wales' backyard and shot him in the neck, through a window, with a handgun. The killer left shell casings behind.

Robert Wone

Robert Eric Wone was murdered in Washington, D.C. in August 2006. He was slained in the home of his three friends.  The case remains unsolved. Wone, who was 32 years old at the time, was a lawyer living in suburban Oakton, Virginia, but had been working as general counsel at Radio Free Asia in downtown Washington, D.C. He had stayed the night at the home of friends located about one mile from his office. According to police affidavits, Wone was believed to have been "restrained, incapacitated, and sexually assaulted" before his death.
